Dreamy Cloud Inspired Styled Shoot

"As a child, I was fascinated by the beautiful blue sky and the floating clouds. I often dreamt about how carefree it would be to fly in the sky and be in the clouds. Our amazing team of creative event professionals put together this dreamy cloud inspired wedding styled shoot to create that carefree in the clouds feeling. We used shades of soft blue and white color palette with gold accents. Set in a backdrop of the garden estate with grand architecture, we incorporated many details from chiffon fabric to watercolor invitation suite, cotton candy topped cake, balloon garland, themed signature cocktails, and more." -In The Cloud Events

Describe the cake:

The 3-tier wedding cake is made of vanilla cake with vanilla Swiss meringue buttercream. Inspired by the airy sky and clouds, the top and bottom tiers are decorated in strips of water colored rice paper with the edges trimmed in edible gold. The pastry chef used a semi-naked cake for the middle tier to break up the monotony of the blue. Top of the cake is embellished with fluffy cotton candy to create a 3D effect. The cake is set on a vintage vanity table accented with single bloom floral in milk glass vases.

We love incorporation a couple of DIY projects in our event decor to add personal touches. We made two strands of all-white balloon garland to dress the ceremony altar. (The tutorial can be linked to In the Clouds Events blog.). Gold chivari chairs in the ceremony aisle were made of dusty blue chiffon fabric, hand-tied to the chair, draping to the floor, then adorned with a single stem white rose. We created a bed of clouds using craft stuffing to dress up the escort card table.

We created 5 custom signature drinks and named each appropriately to the theme.

Skyward Bound, Float of Curaçao, Aviation, Matcha Sour, and Starboard Sun.

About the flowers:

The florist integrated the soft blue and white color scheme by using ivory and lavender Earl Grey roses, blue delphinium, purple sea holly, and baby blue and silver eucalyptus leaves. The bridal bouquet is wrapped in flowy chiffon ribbon. A mix of tall and short arrangements for guest table centerpieces. Branches of baby’s breath adorn the balloon garlands at the ceremony altar.

About the attire:

Madeleine Fig designed this dreamy ball gown hand-beaded illusion bodice with plunging neck and backline, full circle silk satin organza skirt with hidden pockets. Delicate tulle delicately paired with handmade silk flowers and Swarovski crystals adorn this ultra-versatile piece from veil to overskirt to a cape.

We chose a navy suit to coordinate with the bride's soft chiffon ombre/gradient blue skirt.
