We love all engagement sessions, but a breathtaking New York couple in a Southern California orchard? Yes, please. Danielle Poff did an amazing job with this couple, finding a great location, showcasing the beauty of a morning shoot, and soaking in all the pre-wedding bliss of this beautiful couple.
Their love story: Elliott and I live in New York City's Manhattan. We met 5 years ago at a mutual friend’s party, and we were instantly drawn to one another. Elliott introduced himself and offered to show me around the city because I had just moved to New York from Australia, however he didn't ask for my number! Afterwards, he asked a few mutual friends for it, but they were under strict instruction from me not to give it to him because he hadn't asked for it in person. It took another month for us to run into one another other again, and when we did he quickly approached me and got my number. We started dating shortly after, and have been together ever since.
How he proposed: In October 2013 we made a trip back to my home in Sydney to visit family and friends. One afternoon he asked me to go for a walk with him down by Sydney harbor. It was a beautiful Autumn (fall) day and we were taking in the Sydney waterfront when Elliott got down on his knee and proposed.
About their engagement session: Our photographer, Danielle, was wonderful! Neither of us are familiar with the area we are getting married, so we really relied on Danielle's advice regarding location and timing. With Danielle's help, we chose to do an early morning shoot at Dana Power's -a beautiful rustic barn surrounded by orchards. We were both a little nervous about posing for pictures, but Danielle made us feel very comfortable and it turned out to be a really fun and enjoyable experience.
