Old Hollywood Beach Wedding at the Anneberg Beach House

"Ranjeet and I knew from the very beginning that we wanted our wedding to be classic, fun and unforgettable! Initially we both thought of the "old-hollywood" era, the style and classic elegance from this time is what we really wanted to evoke on our big day. Everything from the venue, to the music, to my wedding day hair style was inspired by this theme. We still wanted to add some fun modern elements though, like a photo booth (of course it was retro inspired as well, complete with retro-inspired props), and we had a mini cupcake tower as opposed to a traditional wedding cake. The color palette for our big day was whites, grays, and mercury glass. Whites and grays were incorporated in the table linens, flowers, and our bridal party's attire. Our bridesmaids and groomsmen all wore varying shades of gray. We let them each pick their own dress/suit, all while staying in the same color palette. We wanted them to be comfortable and confident in what they were wearing because we felt like it would show through in the wedding photos. Mercury glass was utilized in the vases for our floral arrangements and candle holders throughout the venue. We knew we wanted classic white flowers, candle light, and the soft glow from cafe lights to set the scene for our reception. We wanted our whole day to be classic, fun and inviting, and we feel like we achieved that. After over a year of planning, we had the best day we could have ever asked for!" -bride & groom

Wedding Planning Advice: First and foremost, give yourself plenty of time to plan your wedding, we were planning ours for almost a year and a half. And, most importantly, talk to your partner from the outset and decide what things are most important to the both you for the big day, then base your wedding planning around those things. As things move along in the planning process things can get VERY overwhelming, but focusing on the things that truly matter to the both of you as a couple can help keep you grounded.

Also, if you aren't familiar with vendors in your area, we would highly recommend checking out www.thumbtack.com. It helped us find our AMAZING DJ and makeup artist/hairstylist. This website saved us so much time and stress by letting the vendors come to us. You just put in your information such as your budget and the zip code where you need the service, and the vendors contact you via email. So easy, seriously.

Honeymoon: Honeymooned in London & Paris through Costco TravelWe took an 8 hour tour in London, which enabled us to see: the changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace, St. Paul's Cathedral, The Tower of London, a river cruise on the River Thames, and the last stop was The London Eye. We would definitely recommend taking a tour like this if you've never been to London before. We learned so many historical facts that we wouldn't have known otherwise. There's a lot of differently cultural culinary influences in London. We had some amazing Michelin Star Indian cuisine at QuilonIn Paris we definitely enjoyed the food!!! You could go into any little cafe and be served the most amazing Croque Madam with a nice glass of Bordeaux.

In London we would definitely recommend visiting the British Museum! Lots of great art and history there.

Also, we loved a morning in London that we spent feeding the squirrels in St. James Park. The squirrels are so domesticated there that they will come right up to you if you hold out food for them. Soo cute!! Definitely have your camera ready for that experience if you try it.

If you're in London and you like shopping, we would definitely recommend visiting the famous Harrods department store, www.harrods.com. Make sure you arrive hungry, and visit their basement which houses the coolest market ever! Lots of little places to eat and soo much to see!

Probably our favorite evening out in Paris was when we visited the Moulin Rouge. It is really a must see! We reserved seats for the show where you can share a bottle of champagne, which we would highly recommend.

The Louvre in Paris was also amazing! And so ginormous! We would recommend planning out what art pieces you would like to see in advance before you get there so you can most effectively use your time when you're there, otherwise you might be wandering around forever.
