"We just have to say it: the West coast is THE best coast. We absolutely love our hometown, Los Angeles, where the weather's beautiful and the beach is never too far away; and what better way to show our love for LA, or California for that matter, than stage a wedding that's "very California" (as screamed by one of the onlookers during our shoot). It is pretty easy to envision the cool, laid-back Cali bride: she has flowers on her saltwater-sprayed hair; she will go for breezy bridal separates; she never says no to ice cream; she's not afraid to laugh out loud; and she has the perfect arm candy ie her groom. Best of all, this Cali bride just loves to take in the sunshine and will definitely have a fun, no-frills wedding day full of love.
We were lucky to be able to collaborate with the coolest wedding vendors and brands for this shoot. Katie May bridal just recently launched the Noel and Jean collection (2 pieces worn by the bride) that is the perfect mix of elegant and adventurous. We love how the Holden outfit from The Black Tux complemented the Emie top and Kyle skirt. Their modern yet timeless array of custom-fitted suits/tuxedos can be easily rented out online (they actually rent out a WHOLE outfit including footwear). The colorful, pastel tones of the flower bouquet and crown designed by Gosling and Flora for Fiore Designs (local Venice beach floral and event stylists) were beautiful accents against the neutral background.
The Coolhaus guys joined us during this shoot and we got to feature the awesome pink+silver truck and their yummy Sammies. Even if it was a styled shoot, we (including the models) all had fun trying out their different ice cream flavors. We could imagine the bride and groom taking a break from their guests and spending time together as a married couple, getting ice cream at the local ice cream truck, and simply enjoying newlywed bliss. Of course, it won't hurt if everyone of your guests could actually get some Coolhaus goodies! Although we had the Cali girl and boy in mind for this wedding inspiration, we think every cool, laid-back bride and groom, no matter where they may be from, ultimately deserve a fun, relaxed wedding like this - one that's spent with the people they love and in the place they call home." -Wanderlust Creatives
