"I met Heather and Mikael while attending Art School at California State University Long Beach. I followed their love from the beginning and always loved how perfectly their quirky personalities meshed together. They have a love for the outdoors and doing good to earth. I knew when they got engaged that their wedding was going to be something special and unique to them and when they contacted me about the idea they had, I knew I had to be a part of it.
Little Harbor is on a remote part of Catalina Island and was the location of their first backpacking trip together. Catalina has also remained an important part of their relationship with yearly trips to scuba dive in the harbor and explore all around. It was so fitting that this would be the place in which they said "I Do". They wanted their nuptials to be personal to them so it made sense to have an elopement style wedding with just their immediate families, "mer"maid of honor, college professor to officiate and former college classmates to document the whole thing. Heather and Mikael then got ready at their individual hotels in preparation for the day surrounded by their families. With a quick pit stop for mini golf (a Catalina Island tradition for Heather and Mikael) before arriving at the jeep, which would escort us to Little Harbor, the day was off to a great start.
An hour drive later and just as the sun started its descent, we had arrived at Little Harbor and the place where they would say their vows. It was a short ceremony but did not lack the personality and heartfelt words that all weddings should include. Although their wedding didn't include lavish florals, ginormous ball gowns or multiple courses of food, their wedding was one of the sweetest, emotional, and personal weddings I have had the pleasure of being a part of." -Mirage and Light Photography
