"The 2017 Pantone Color of the Year is Greenery, and we wanted to show it can be found in the most beautiful and unexpected of places. It’s a color that is rich and luxurious, and has an unlimited depth to it. We wanted to display it and all it represents in this shoot.
Victoria Beach, in Laguna Beach, California, is one of those beautiful and unexpected places that greenery exists. The moss on the rocks comes and goes with the tide, and isn’t always there displaying the magic of nature, but this day, it was bright and thriving. In order to display the luxury of the color, we wanted to use different textures and shades, which also shows how unlimited greenery can be. The velvet runner was designed and created by Daniel’s Custom Tailoring. Since it draped either side, it created this regal and dramatic effect that framed the rest of the table. We used gold accents, flatware, and napkins to continue with the regal touch. The emerald plates and feathered placemats each captured a different aspect of the color, greenery. The feathers had flecks of the color and were on full display out in the sunlight. We topped it all with brown place settings made by P&H Chalk, to match the fur chair coverings.
We also knew how important it was to bring in more vibrant colors to the table. Blue Ladder Botany used minimal greens in the arrangement and bouquet, and focused on bringing in pinks and purples to compliment the table setting. We then used moss and berries to tie in all the colors to the dessert table. However, it was the dress by Casablanca Bridal that brought this entire shoot to life. It has intricate details laced in a net shape. Along with the beading and shape, it was the perfect regal dress for our bride. Lavender and Lipstick embraced the natural beauty of our bride and created the perfect beach bride look.
Greenery is such a beautiful and complex color, and this is the shoot that dived into the beauty of it and put it on display in the most unexpected of places, the beautiful beaches of Southern California." -Debby Boh Events
