"When you combine passion with the open canvas of desert scenes, you get an untamed romance that transcends into a bohemian dream. That was the vision captured to amplify Valerie’s flawless style and persona. As a Los Angeles hair and makeup artist, Valerie has graced the faces of over 100 brides and most of L.A.'s top models. And as a social media influencer known as @valerie_star, her cool impeccable OOTD’s and lifestyle shots has scored her tens of thousands of followers and counting. It is with that exact authenticity of style that sets the tone for this engagement session.
Starting the day with tranquil surroundings at Moorten’s Botanical Gardens in Palm Springs, the scene was set inside a “Cactarium” greenhouse with beds of exotic cacti and succulents. Valerie wore a slip dress by Rose and Delilah and draping kimono by Island Bridal, accessorized with a vintage bejeweled headpiece. This look was complimented by her fiancĂ©, Jimmy, wearing a Zara suit. Moving outside the greenhouse into the gardens, were towering cactus and desert plants that fashioned a greenery background which was accompanied by a gorgeous bouquet filled with exotic florals.
Next, the groom took his 1967 convertible Chevy Mustang out to play for a sunset ride on the open desert road. This edgy look was styled with a lace low-back dress by The Jet Set Diaries and hat by Brixton.
Moving forward to a Gothic elegance painted by the sunset. the couple strolled through the desert fields and nestled on a black peacock chair accessorized with beautiful arrangement that included white peonies for a soft touch.
To finalize the day, a dusk scene was set amongst a mountain backdrop; the open desert was adorned with vintage Persian rugs and a dry floral and wheat crescent that hugged the loving couple in the brisk chill of the desert evening. The bridal bouquet made with rare florals made a statement to finish off this romantic look. Valerie wore a dress by Island Bridal, a sheer headpiece by Gilded Shadows and a white fur coat from Forever 21.
This styled engagement session was strategically planned and captured on photo film by photographer, Dennis Coronel and Evelyn of Harlow Planning. Florals designed by Isabelle Canas. Portion of wardrobe care of Bride Boutique LA. Grooms attire by Zara. Hair and make up done by Valerie herself." -Dennis Roy Coronel
