"The first time I saw Samantha, I was struck by her beauty, confidence and personal style. I immediately thought of her as a perfect model for a styled shoot and hoped to work with her in the future. I learned later that she is a passionate sommelier with a golden personality to boot. It wasn't long before I found out that I wasn't alone in my fondness of Samantha. Almost four years prior, Garrett had also been struck by her presence when she walked down the aisle as a bridesmaid at a mutual friend's wedding. Since that fateful day, Garrett had his eyes and heart set on Samantha, quietly pursuing her which turned into a less quiet pursuit and then developed into a deep, deep love for each other. When Garrett found out we had asked Samantha to model for us, he jumped at the chance to knock her off her feet that day with a surprise proposal and finally be able to make his dream come true of asking her to be his wife. The styled shoot was inspired by Southern California living. Relaxed, both modern and historic, with bright, bold citrus tones and elements found in the region. With The 1912 venue, managed by 24 Carrots, as the foundation of the design providing its always on trend loft vibe, and a dream vendor team made up of some of the best that Orange County has to offer, the result was a perfect stage for this spring time proposal. Lisa Cristea of Simon Says Design coordinated, styled and directed the shoot and proposal, keeping in close communication with everyone involved as to not spoil the big secret. Vintage rentals were provided by Sundrop Vintage to create an amazing lounge area and integrate unique details throughout the shoot. The Flower Story Co. designed all of the florals, including the garland that wrapped around a custom built hexagon ceremony backdrop. Makeup for our model and bride to be was done by Make up by Erika. Smitten on Paper provided the invitations which were a perfect fit for the inspiration and Happy Jewelers designed the unique and impressive rose gold engagement ring. An integral part of the shoot was our amazing photographer, OANA FOTO, and videographer, Fonzii Productions, who were able to flawlessly capture all the carefully crafted details. Fonzii Productions even caught the audio for the proposal, without Samantha ever suspecting what was to come. We couldn't have asked for a better day and are so thrilled to have been a part of Samantha and Garrett's new chapter together. They plan on a winter wedding here in Southern California and have expressed their gratitude for creating a day they will never forget." -Simon Says Design
