"We always knew we wanted a wedding that would be unique to who we are as a couple. We work in the classical music industry as conductors and singers, so we knew that music would be an important part of it. We wanted a wedding that would be classic and romantic but also have lots of whimsy and laughter. David comes from a Jewish family and I grew up in Hong Kong, so we wanted our wedding to reflect the ways our culture had shaped us, including a Chinese wedding tea ceremony. While we originally considered doing a destination wedding in Italy, we realized that LA, the home we love was the most accessible and feasible for both our families who would all be flying from out of town. We found the next best thing in the Greystone Mansion and Gardens in LA, which while being in the center of the city, completely transports you to a fairytale setting of an European Tudor style stone mansion and gardens. Since the venue itself was naturally exquisite, we did not need to decorate it and wanted the rest of our wedding aesthetic to be minimal and the colors to be soft pastels and neutrals. We enjoy food immensely, so wanted our wedding catering to have food that came from our multi-cultural food adventures, and would serve our most cherished family and friends well. We had food items from Chinese, Italian, South Korean, Japanese and Jewish cultures and more. For our bar, we turned to the bar company that our friends own and requested a tiki bar signature cocktail menu that would add that extra sense of fun." -bride & groom
